She was the official head of the British Empire which included Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand and Africa. She embraced ideals such as family life, earnestness, public and private responsibility and obedience to the law. The monarchy attained a high degree of esteem among the masses.
\nHer significant achievements included abolition of slavery in British colonies, reduced working hours in textile industries to ten hours and granted all the households the right to vote.
\nShe was known as the \u2018Grandmother of Europe\u2019 because her children and grandchildren were married to royal families of European Countries. She was interested in Arts, Science. Was involved in diplomacy through Lord Henry Palmerston. In her reign there was balance of power in Europe, achieved through Benjamin Disraeli. Her reign was felt on many continents: America, Australia, Asia and Africa.
